For the past 25 years, Chapel’s cast bronze sculpture has drawn accolades from the art community
and its critics as well as the citizens of the communities where his works have become part of the
urban landscape. Raised and educated in Colorado, Chapel had his first one-man exhibition in a Denver
gallery in 1970 and his sculpture now graces civic, public and museum spaces throughout North America
and as far afield as Beijing, China. In tribute to his Colorado heritage as well as his immense
talent, Chapel was commissioned to create the sixteen-foot high bronze, stainless steel and concrete
sculpture "Twist of Fate", a magnificent grouping of seven life-sized figures, for the Civic Center
Plaza in Loveland, Colorado.
Among the way in Chapel’s career were lecture series at universities in the People’s Republic of
China, three years as vice president of Quest foundry, numerous exhibitions, high-profile commissions
and multi-city museum tours. After a two-year stay in the Chesapeake Bay area, Chapel located in
Northern California where he continues to create unique masterpieces in bronze and stainless steel of
birds, wildlife and human figures.
In addition to numerous museum shows, Chapel has had one-man shows in Denver, Aspen, Scottsdale,
Santa Fe and Palm Springs. A highly regarded lecturer and instructor, Chapel is a recurring guest
presenter at the Loveland Academy of Fine Art. His work is included in a number of important private,
corporate and museum collections.
